A large, woody, twining shrub, with prominently lenticelled, brown bark, ovate-oblong, elliptic or obovate leaves, small greenish-yellow flowers, male and female separate, in terminal, pendulous panicles and yellow, globose capsules containing 1-6 yellowish or reddish-brown, ellipsoid or ovoid seeds enclosed in scarlet aril. |
