A large climbing shrub, with jointed stem, exuding sticky and milky latex, fleshy and cylindrical root having a strong aromatic odour, ovate or elliptic-obovate leaves, small, cream-yellow flowers, in trichotomous cymes, oblong-lanceolate, cylindric, woody follicles containing many ovate seeds with white silky hairs. |
