Description
An erect, evergreen, perennial herb, with woody stem, tuberous root, pale brown bark, elliptic-lanceolate to oblong leaves, in whorls of 3-5 at the nodes, small, white or pink flowers, in terminal or axillary umbellate cymes and purplish-black, glabrous, shiny, fleshy drupes containing single ovoid, slightly rugose seeds.
