Taxonomy

5 years research experience in plant taxonomy and tissue culture. Experienced in Survey, Collection, Identification, Documentation and conservation of medicinal plants from Western Ghats of south India with special emphasis to Rare, Endangered and Threatened taxa and digitised inventory preparation on medicinal plants along with documentation of traditional knowledge. Involved in establishing a Field and Seed Gene Bank for Ayurvedic Medicinal Plants at Kottakkal, Kerala. Experienced in Characterisation of Germplasm collected from different agroclimatic zones of South India for the identification of intraspecific variability and elite clones for future domestication and industrial use. Was Involved in a DBT funded project for developing an inventory of plant resources of India – Spices and condiments as research fellow at Indian Institute of Spices Research, Calicut. Experienced in micropropagation and in vitro conservation of medicinal plants.
